- Godfred Yeboah Dame, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, has called for the development of renewable energy consumption in schools in order to provide a consistent supply of electricity and prevent circumstances in which the power is turned off due to nonpayment of electricity bills.
- The most plentiful energy source is solar energy, which is produced by the sun and wind and may even be used in overcast conditions. At the 114th Speech and Prize-giving Day of Adisadel Senior High School in Cape Coast, Dame spoke on the topic of “Powering education through sustainable solar energy.”
- He said that by 2050, the usage of solar and renewable energy in the world’s power supply system will more than treble, according to estimates from the UN Climate Change Action Policy. He underlined how crucial inexpensive, efficient, and dependable energy is to the continued existence of the Free SHS initiative.
- The implementation of free SHS, which increased access to education, suggests that school energy requirements have increased. According to a UN Climate Change action report that Dame referenced, the earth’s absorption of solar energy was almost 10,000 times more than the pace at which people were consuming energy.
- He suggested encouraging public-private partnerships as a means of cooperation for institutions that are less fortunate. He honored former and current pupils and complimented Samuel Agudogo, the school’s headmaster, for his work.
