- The vice president of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has won 14 of the 16 areas in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearership competition.
- Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, his closest rival, only took home two of the 16 areas. Agyapong prevailed in the Central and Volta regions, while Dr. Bawumia won the Ahafo, Ashanti, Bono, Bono East, Eastern, Greater Accra, Northeast, Northern, Oti, Savannah, Upper East, Upper West, Western, and Western North regions. Agyapong received 10,828 votes in the Central Region, while Dr. Bawumia, a native of Walewale in the Northeast Region, received 3,444 votes.
- With 19,002 votes, Dr. Bawumia prevailed in the Greater Accra Region by a margin of 1,720 votes. With 672 votes, Mr. Agyapong prevailed in the Weija Gbawe Constituency, while Dr. Bawumia garnered 434 votes.
- Additionally, Agyapong prevailed in the Volta Region with 5,850 votes, an 866-vote lead.
