Because of its first-rate facilities, Ghana has also been awarded the bid to host the African Athletics Championship in 2026.
- The University of Ghana will oversee the facilities, and the Borteyman Complex would be converted into a University for Sports Development, according to the Sports Minister, who also emphasized the advantages of hosting the Games.
- The National Sports Authority has received the facility from the Ministry and will take immediate control of it. Ghana is now the top-ranked nation in Africa with the strongest sports infrastructure thanks to the advantages of hosting the Games.
