- The choice is in line with Accra Hearts of Oak’s ambitious plan to reorganize the technical team as they go with the 2023–24 football season.
- Accra Hearts of Oak stated in a press release on November 14, 2023, that Abdul Rahim Bashiru, the team’s current assistant coach, has been ordered to assume leadership as the temporary head coach until further notice.
- “The Hearts of Oak management is therefore using this opportunity to thank Coach Koopman for his services whilst at the club and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavors,” said the statement.
- Koopman, who took the coaching reins in August, has set a record as the coach with the shortest stint at the club in the last decade. The termination of his two-year contract comes just three months into the role, primarily attributed to the team’s lacklustre performance under his guidance.
