- Mr. All 4Real, a highlife artist, Ofori Amponsah, has apologized for recording some classic singles when he was starving. Amponsah is renowned for successful songs including Emmanuella, Otoolege, Sardine, Alewa, Odwo, Anigyena, Daamabi, Bonwire, Lady, Tintin, Abele, Hello, Broken Heart, Puduo, Sampson, and Delilah. She has worked with artists like Daddy Lumba, Kofi Nti, Barosky, K.K. Fosu, Sarkodie, and King Promise.
- Amponsah stated in a special interview with Graphic Showbiz that he wasn’t happy of some of his songs but had to release them in order to stay in the music industry. He said that these songs weren’t inspired by himself and that they wouldn’t have been recorded if his finances had been stable at the time.
- But according to Amponsah, if a musician records songs just for financial gain, they might not create quality music. He thinks that an artist risks quickly becoming irrelevant if they put money before content. Songs like “Abele,” which are timeless and originate from the heart, have a lengthy shelf life. On the other hand, those who put their “stomachs” first eventually lose relevance.
