- Ghana’s parliament adjourned sine die, without deliberating over the president’s choices for ministers. The National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament for South Dayi filed an interlocutory injunction petition at the Supreme Court to restrict him, according to Speaker of the House Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, who said that this prevented them from considering the nominations.
- The constraint was intended to prevent Bagbin from moving on with the screening and acceptance of the names of individuals that the President provided until the requirements of the Constitution were met.
- Serving the court was done on March 19, 2024. Bagbin notified the House that until the Supreme Court rules on the plea for an interlocutory injunction, the House would not be allowed to discuss the nominations of His Excellency the President in the spirit of preserving the rule of law.
- President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo informed Parliament on February 14 and 28, 2024, about the nomination of individuals to be appointed as state ministers and deputy ministers. Dr. Benjamin Sekyere Yeboah is the nomination for Deputy Minister-designate for the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection, and Abena Osei-Asare is the nominee for Minister of State-designate for the Ministry of Finance.
- Sylvester Tetteh, the Ministry of Information’s deputy minister-designate, Charles Acheampong, the Ministry of Communication and Digitalization’s deputy minister-designate, Adelaid Ntim has been designated as the Ministry of Health’s Deputy Minister.
- Alexander Akwasi Acquah, the Ministry of Health’s deputy minister-designate, As the Ministry of Local Government’s deputy minister-designate, Vincent Ekow Assafuah John Kobina Abbam Sanie, the Ministry of Energy’s deputy minister-designate, Dr. Prince Hamidu Armah is the deputy minister-designate for the Ministry of Works and Housing, while Collins Adomako Mensah is the deputy minister-designate for the Ministry of Energy.
- Dr. Alexander Ampaabeng is the deputy minister-designate for the Ministry of Finance, Prof. Festus Awuah Kwofie is the deputy minister-designate for the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations, and Akwasi Konadu is the deputy minister-designate for the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resource
