- The police in Dunkwa-on-Offin, in the Upper Denkyira East District of the Central Region, detained a man on Friday for reportedly beheading his wife in the Dunkwa-on-Offin neighborhood of Atachem.
- After a brief miscommunication between them, the guy, whose identity is now unknown, is accused of killing his wife Gifty.
- The deceased, who is thought to have been in her late 20s, and the guy, who is believed to be in his early 30s, are from Wassa-Saa in the Western Region, where they had been residing together, according to some local locals, who spoke to the Ghana News Agency.
- According to reports, the deceased had previously left her home for Dunkwa-on-Offin in pursuit of employment with a mining firm. However, the guy followed up with her on Friday in an attempt to persuade her to return home.
- The guy was believed to have brought Gifty to Dunkwa Atachem near the Subin River for unknown reasons, where he allegedly murdered her and fled the scene.
- When scrap dealers approached him, they observed bloodstains on him and asked him some questions, but the suspect said that someone stabbed him after almost robbing him.
- Not persuaded, they detained him and sent him to the police, whose inquiries uncovered the deed. The woman’s headless body had been left at the Dunkwa Government Hospital.
