- Meta Connect, in partnership with EssilorLuxottica, has announced the next-generation Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses collection. The glasses have been redesigned from the ground up, improving all core features of the first generation while adding new capabilities that have never been seen on a pair of smart glasses before. Starting at $299 USD, pre-orders are open now on meta.com and ray-ban.com, and the smart glasses will be available for purchase online and in retail stores starting October 17.
- The first-generation smart glasses, built in partnership with EssilorLuxottica, have captured millions of moments since their launch. These glasses allow users to capture and share photos or videos from their unique point of view, allowing them to live in the moment. The next-generation glasses are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen1 Platform, enabling higher quality photo and video processing and faster compute. They come with a redesigned and sleek charging case, which holds up to eight additional charges (for a total of 36 hours of use) while being slimmer and even smaller.
- The Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses come in the timeless Wayfarer style, plus a brand-new Headliner design for a more retro look, both available in Matte Black and Shiny Black. They are also available in three new transparent frame colors in Jeans, Rebel Black, and Caramel, celebrating the tech inside. With over 150 different custom frame and lens combinations on the Ray-Ban Remix platform, users can mix and match to make the glasses their own on ray-ban.com.
- Comfort and control have been improved by reducing the weight of the glasses and slimming down the profile in every direction, making them lighter and more comfortable. The glasses are now water-resistant (IPX4), and the touchpad has been improved with interaction earcons for faster and more reliable responses to commands. Hands-free livestreaming is now possible, allowing users to livestream from the glasses to Facebook or Instagram, see comments in their preview, or tap and hold on the side of their glasses to hear them out loud.
- Meta AI, the advanced conversational assistant, has been integrated on the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses for a hands-free, on-the-go experience. Meta AI features will be available in the US in beta only at launch.
