- Effective January 2023, the National Service Allowance will see a significant increase from Ghc559.04 to Ghc715.57. This adjustment will directly benefit active service personnel, who will receive the improved payment starting in January 2023.
- The National Service Scheme (NSS) management has been successful in getting the government’s consent for an increase in the monthly allowances paid to National Service Members.
- The Fair Wages and Salary Commission, the Ministry of Finance, and the Scheme all engaged in fruitful discussions, according to a statement from the NSS signed by Ambrose Entsiwah Jr., the Acting Director of Corporate Affairs.
- It was stated in a formal letter dated July 18, 2023, and signed by Abena Osei-Asare, the Deputy Minister of Finance (MP).
- The letter also gave the Controller and Accountant-General instructions to immediately apply the revised allowance levels as part of the government’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of National Service Employees.
