- The northeastern Nigerian state of Adamawa on Monday lifted a 24-hour curfew that had been put in place the day before to settle things down in the capital city after teenagers broke into stores to steal food and other items.
- In order to allow residents and businesses to conduct their daily operations, the curfew will now be in effect from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. (1700 GMT to 0500 GMT), according to deputy state governor Kaleptapwa Farauta.
- President Bola Tinubu lifted currency regulations and eliminated a popular gasoline subsidy, which caused the value of the naira to plummet. Nigerians have since complained about rising costs.
- According to the deputy governer, there will be a lot of patrols taking place, not just in the state capital but also in the 21 local government regions, as the security authorities continue to preserve peace.
