- Along with two other people, Henry Fitz—the guy saw in a naked social media video alongside media celebrity Serwaa Amihere—has been charged with uploading private footage online. The police action is in response to a complaint that Serwaa Amihere filed.
- As to the charges sheet presented in court, Serwaa Amihere paid a ransom to prevent the release of the naked video. However, the three accused individuals proceeded to disseminate the footage on social media after obtaining the GH¢20,000 payment they had requested.
- They are accused of conspiring to commit a crime, namely non-consensual sharing of personal images in violation of the Cybersecurity Act 2020 (Act 1038) and Section 67 (1)(2) of the Criminal Offences Act 1960 (Act 29).
- Additionally, they allegedly threatened to post the aforementioned footage on social media if Serwaa Amihere did not pay them GH¢20,000.
- The other two have been identified as businessman Candylove Kwakyewaa Ababio and filmmaker Edem Saviour Ketti. The police claim that Henry Amponsah, also known as Henry Fitz, is still at large.
- Four counts of sexual extortion, non-consensual sharing of an intimate photograph, and conspiracy to share an intimate image have been brought against the accused.
- According to the facts that go with the charge sheet, on December 3, 2023, Amihere’s makeup artist told her that someone had gotten in touch with her and demanded GH¢5,000 to prevent her from releasing personal photos of Serwaa Amihere.
- The aforementioned sum ought to be transferred to the MTN mobile money account with the number ← 0558247205, which is owned by Edem Saviour Ketti.
- It said, “On April 2, 2024, a different MTN number, 0555252660, called and demanded GH¢20,000 to be sent within a minute, or else he would post the complainant’s (Serwaa Amihere) nude videos online.”
- The prosecution claims Serwaa Amihere paid a ransom to stop footage from being shared.
